Add a Shipping Request in eBooking

This article provides information about how to add a shipment request using eBookings feature.

Overview

The eBookings feature allows to add a shipment request for the Transport Mode, which is selected as "Sea".  This feature is designed for quicker and efficient performance that require less manual work. 


In the eBookings process, most of the data are used from other modules such as Rate List, Vessel Schedule, etc. and the some sections captures data from the third-party application, INTTRA. There are many useful functionalities which can be seen in the training video which is embedded at the end of this article.


Procedure

  1. On the Booking menu, select Bookings.
    This displays the Booking screen showing the list of all bookings including Manual and eBookings.
  2. Click Add.
    This opens the Booking Request screen to capture general details, Transport Details, Booking Party Details, Payment Details, Linked Shipment Details, and other important details.
  3. Select eBooking as Booking Type.
    Note: The Transport Mode can only be See in eBooking
  4. Select FCL or LCL as Shipment Type.
  5. Enter a value in the Your Reference field.
    This field accepts alphanumeric value.
    Note: The Booking Status is auto updated and hence the field is displayed in the gray color.
  6. Fill in the following details in the Rate Details section:
    1. Click the Ellipses (...) icon in the Quote/Contract Reference field.
      It opens the Rate Search dialog box.
    2. Enter the valid search criteria and click SEARCH.
      It auto fills the available details based on the selection.
    3. Provide the remaining details in other fields such as Nature of Cargo, Any other info (to be sent to carrier/shipping line), Internal Comments, and Booking Office
  7. Fill in the following details in the Transport Details section:
    There are two ways to provide the Shipping Line details:
    • Select From Vessel: Clicking Select From S opens the Vessel Search dialog box allowing to enter the search criteria. Based on the search criteria, it displays the shipping schedule along with complete details.
      Double-click to select the appropriate shipping line and fill all its details in their respective fields.
      Or
    • Selecting the Rate Details as mentioned in the above steps. Name of the Shipping Line is auto filled when selecting a rate.
      Enter details in the remaining fields such as Move Type, Place of Origin/Receipt, and Place of Carrier Delivery.
      Note: Ensure that either the Earliest Departure Date or Estimated Arrival Date or both dates are provided and the value in the Estimated Arrival Date must be a later than the Earliest Departure Date.
  8. Click Additional IMP Classes and fill in all required information.
