There are 2 ways you can do bookings. One is through the Vessel Schedule and another one is when you know which shipping line you want to book with and you want them to nominate the vessel for you.
Through Vessel Schedule:
- Select your Origin and Dsitination ports, start date, container size and type, and select the commodity that you are aiming to ship. Select the carriers (if you want to specifically book with one) or just click search.
- Now you have the option of selecting the cheapest fastest / fastest through the sort by drop down to see your preferred combination and then you also have the option of looking at your consolidated rates in the currency that you want. This can be selected from the 'Rates In' drop down and then you select your Manual default ratesyour negotiated conversion rates) or the live rates from Yahoo! Finance.
3. Once you are happy with the selection, click on book now. Upon clicking on the book now button, the vessel details, your port of loading and discharge, your contracted rate contract number, the composite rate will be locked in and shown on the screen. The hard part is done, now you just push in your shipment details into the given cells, please pay close attention to the notification email address (under Booking Party Contact Details: Email), because this is the email that you will get the successful notification and the booking number of the shipment on. Once you have finalised all the details you hit submit and the booking is electronically sent through, just wait for your success/error notification on your email. Alternatively, if you just want to save a draft, you click on 'Save Draft' and it will create a draft booking on the booking tab.
4. Once your booking is confirmed, it is worth to keep a keen eye on the Booking Status and once the booking goes through with your selected carrier, the booking number will be auto-populated on the screen.
Through the Add Booking button:
- If you want your preferred shipping line to nominate a vessel and service for your shipment, booking through the Add booking button on the Booking tab is the easier and automated option for you. You just select your carrier from the Shipping Line/Carrier drop down and pencil in your booking /contract reference number.

it is also worthy to note that you can send through your changes or cancellations as well, all through the system! Once you are done with the original booking, you can send through your change your original requests or even cancel it. You just have to select the message type to change or cancel.
